The second Fallen Heroes Ceremony will be held at the Leadington Mo VFW Post 5741 The ceremony is October 18,2008 commencing at 2:00 P.M. 600 Woodlawn Dr.
The Following Heroes and their families will be honored:
Cpl Riley E. Baker Hometown: Pacific, Missouri, U.S. Age: 22 years old Died: June 22, 2006 in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Unit: Marines, 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C. Incident: Killed while conducting combat operations in Anbar Province.
Sgt. Robert G. Davis Hometown: Jackson, Missouri, U.S. Age: 23 years old Died: August 18, 2005 in Operation Enduring Freedom. Unit: Army, 864th Engineer Combat Battalion (Heavy), 555th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade (Provisional), Fort Lewis, Wash. Incident: Killed when a makeshift bomb detonated underneath his Humvee during ground assault convoy operations in Kandahar.
Staff Sgt. Michael L. Deason Hometown: Farmington, Missouri, U.S. Age: 28 years old Died: August 31, 2006 in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Unit: Army, 3rd Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Ky. Incident: Killed when a makeshift bomb exploded near his vehicle during combat operations in Ad War.
Pfc. Andrew J. Habsieger Hometown: Festus, Missouri, U.S. Age: 22 years old Died: March 24, 2008 in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Unit: Army, 4th Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga. Incident: Died March 24 in Baghdad from wounds suffered when his vehicle encountered a makeshift bomb on March 23.
Sgt. Adam J. Kohlhaas Hometown: Perryville, Missouri, U.S. Age: 26 years old Died: April 21, 2008 in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Unit: Army, 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky. Incident: Killed when his vehicle encountered a makeshift bomb in Bayji.
Spec. Russell M. Makowski Hometown: Union, Missouri, U.S. Age: 23 years old Died: September 14, 2006 in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Unit: Army, 4th Battalion, 42nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Tex. Incident: Killed when a makeshift bomb exploded near his dismounted patrol during combat operations in Taji.
Lance Cpl. Matthew P. Pathenos Hometown: Ballwin, Missouri, U.S. Age: 21 years old Died: February 7, 2007 in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Unit: Marines, Marine Forces Reserve’s 3rd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Bridgeton, Mo. Incident: Killed while conducting combat operations in Anbar Province.
Sgt. Austin D. Pratt Hometown: Cadet, Missouri, U.S. Age: 22 years old Died: December 15, 2007 in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Unit: Army, 2nd Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Polk, La.
Pfc. Jeremy R. Shank Hometown: Jackson, Missouri, U.S. Age: 18 years old Died: September 6, 2006 in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Unit: Army, 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii Incident: Killed when he encountered enemy forces using small arms fire during a dismounted security patrol in Balad.
Staff Sgt. Bradley J. Skelton Hometown: Gordonville, Missouri, U.S. Age: 40 years old Died: February 6, 2008 in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Unit: Army, 1138th Engineer Company, 35th Engineer Brigade, Missouri Army National Guard, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. Incident: Killed when his vehicle struck a makeshift bomb during combat operations in Baghdad.
Staff Sgt. Trevor Spink Hometown: Farmington, Missouri, U.S. Age: 36 years old Died: July 10, 2004 in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Unit: Marines, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif. Incident: Killed in a vehicle accident in Anbar province.
Cpl. James E. Summers III Hometown: Bourbon, Missouri, U.S. Age: 21 years old Died: May 28, 2007 in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Unit: Army, 6th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas Incident: Killed when their vehicle was struck by a makeshift bomb in Abu Sayda.
